de Pakhuys grows its own table olives
and plans to bottle them under its own label. The first
harvest is expected in May next year (2008).
Several varieties of olive are being
cultivated. These include Calamata, a large, black table
olive with a smooth, meat-like taste, and Mission olives, which are black
and generally for table use only. Also being grown are
Frantoio olives, a cultivar which is often used on the
making of olive oil, and which has a strong, fruity
aftertaste.
de Pakhuys plans on botteling olive
oil as well, in the near
future.
